Digital Marketing, Sales Funnels & Copywriting Is Where Business Relationships Begin…

This is the second email in the Bulletproof Funnel Framework Welcome Sequence, although only sent if no open, click-thru or engagement with the first email. Here, the intention is to give the reader the opportunity to get to know the writer a little better; build some rapport and trust. You could talk here about all the wonderful stuff you’ve done, go for more likeability/relatability or go deeper into your personal philosophy, all intended to give a sense of what it will be like working with you. People do business with people they like or people like them or ideally – both.

I have a story I’d like to tell you.

I’d like to tell you about my journey and all the amazing things I’ve done, seen and been, all the ups and downs, trials and tribulations and fire-breathing dragons I’ve slain along the way.

I’d like to do that because, in my World – everything revolves around me.

But I won’t do that, because – believe it or not…

I’m no longer 3.

 

In Your World

What matters is your journey; your dreams; your plans: your own ambitious quest.

The only reason, you’ll give a crap about anything I do or say, is if our interests are aligned in some way. I’m not talking about being interested in the same things (although, I will get to that). Your interests here relate to fulfilling your needs. My interests here – and this may come as a shock – relate to my desire to sell you something. An alignment of our interests will only happen if my deeds match your needs.

And so of course, the only reason – tough love coming up – your future customers or clients will care about what you say or do, is if you can fulfil some need for them too (and you’re not full of poo).

So, my challenge – as I write this email – is to figure out how I can give you a sense of who I am, without it all being completely about me, me, me.

 

So, How Do I Do That?

I do that by ensuring that I only talk about me, when it’s relevant to you – at least at this place and at this time – with the purpose of helping you figure out if our interests and values actually can align.
For example, before you consider getting on board with me, you might want to know that…

1. I’m a bit slow so I’m always asking for clarity. Sometimes this upsets people. I hope that’s clear and it didn’t upset you too much.

2. I choose freedom. Big shiny things are not as important to me as the time to question, the luxury to explore and the option to say no. Except to you of course. I’d never say no to you.

3. I’m constantly trying to balance my limited talents and critical self-awareness with a strong desire to create good work. Sometimes the voice in my head surprises me when it tells me… “Enough now, It’s done”. But other times it disappoints me when it says “Enough now, you’re done”. As I chip away at this email, the voice is still a whisper, but it’s time will surely come.

Chip, chip…

However, the most salient thing is probably the ‘work’ I do (and how it can help you). The work I do revolves around digital marketing, sales funnels and copywriting (duh). But, this work I do – it may surprise you to learn – is…

Not something I’m ecstatically ‘passionate’ about.

I know. Shocking, right?

What I am about this work is ‘realistic’.

 

The Thing Is…

Digital marketing, sales funnels and copywriting are not what gets me out of bed each morning. What gets me out of bed each morning is the sense that I’m working towards something bigger, better and more beautiful than myself (granted; not so hard); something that just might make a positive difference; something that may not change the World in any big, seismic, dramatic way, but may at least have some positive impact towards the greater good in the long run (granted; a little bit harder).

 

The Fact Is…

I’m never going to be Steve Jobs. You’re never going to be Steve Jobs. But like you, I have plans. And the reason I’m talking to you right now, is just in case, somehow, someway, at some time and in some place our stars might align and then maybe – just maybe – we can do something really rather magical together.

So no, digital marketing, sales funnels and copywriting are not the big things for us entrepreneurs, but they are fundamentally important things we need to understand and do well to get us to ‘the big thing’. Because good things, worthwhile things, big things; need people to work together. And for people to work well together requires solid relationships built on empathy, trust and honest communication. And where do these relationships begin?

That’s where digital marketing, sales funnels and copywriting come in.

A Happy Place?

So, your thing may be different from my thing, but what if there’s some magical little place where our things cross? The challenge I’ve set for my Funnel is to help you find that place, a place where your needs match my deeds.

And maybe (probably) only a small fraction of you will actually like, the flutter of my butter, the tango of my mango or the parrot of my carrot enough to take this journey with me.

But I’m ok with that.

In fact, I’m more than ok with that, I’m actually quite excited motivated by the possibilities of that…

Imagine a place full of people you share common ground with, a place full of people you have values in common with, and a place full of people you enjoy having a beer with.

Does that sound like an interesting place? A positive place? A huge possibilities place?

At its essence, The Bulletproof Funnel Framework is simply a set of easy to follow processes for Entrepreneurs who know they have to up their own relationship building game, so they can better connect, communicate and convert, but are – maybe – not sure how best to go about it.

 

And Speaking Of Best…

I’ve sifted through all the best advice, best practices and best educational material I could find, filtered out the stuff that didn’t resonate with me and then distilled down the rest, to what works the best. For me.

But, what’s best for me, may not be best for you.

So I don’t want to lecture you on what you ‘have’ to do. I don’t expect you to do anything that doesn’t feel right for you. What I want – for you – is to help you figure out the best way to do what you want to do – for you.

It’s all out there (somewhere), and you can figure it out for yourself (but if you don’t have the inclination or the time, that’s also where our interests can align).

But if you do, want to do, as I have done, then that means taking a sceptical approach. Sift. Filter. Question. Ponder, but also – importantly – as you move through my Funnel, take the opportunity to watch closely, dig deeper and consider:

What your Framework should be?

What your Action Guides could do?

And what Connections you can see?

 

But Then…

To get to what works for you, you need to take action, get stuff started and get things done.

But…
